2008 Mercedes Benz C class
Since the complete reorganization of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class in 2001, the high-end sedan has changed dramatically. Newer models have always offered the highest levels of creature comfort and driving pleasure. As a result, the Mercedes entry-level car was increasingly in trouble, with its small rear seat, uncomfortable handling, and standard cabinet furniture becoming tangible obstacles. American consumers will seem to agree, with the C-Class' archnemesis, the BMW 3 Series, selling the C-Class at a huge margin last year.
Mercedes-Benz horse riders arrived this year in a fully redesigned C-Class condition in 2008. It is intended to address the many faults of the past car. The wheel is slightly stretched, improving the interior, especially in the back seat. Not a big deal, but the resulting cabin is certainly bigger and feels no bigger than before. The C-Class interior also benefits from new features, including hard-drive-based navigation and ambient sound system, as well as a highly improved version of the COMAND display.
As before, there are lower levels of Sport and Luxury, but this year Mercedes has put more effort into making the trim very different. The C300 and C350 Sport models feature a more aggressive exterior and suspension exterior than the classic C300 Luxury. Internally, this type of separation is ongoing, with building materials and large structures designed specifically for each version.
Below, the basic design of the C-Class suspension is similar to the previous model, but the parts are easier to handle and move with comfort. The sense of direction and urgency has also been significantly improved. Happily, high-speed stability and comfort, the qualities that are always associated with Mercedes-Benz, are still valid.
Mercedes-Benz opted for the V6 engine last year and will also offer all-wheel drive. Notably, there will be a new AMG model coming out in the spring or summer of the 2008 calendar year. It features a 6.2-liter V8 and standard variants for high performance to improve the handling of the brakes.
Overall, the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class of 2008 is an acceptable development. Luxury and Sport’s unique design should help attract more new and traditional buyers, while the interior is fully stocked with features and properties. Also, the power of the 457-horse C63 AMG will definitely give the prestigious M3 big money. However, the C-Class is still in a surprisingly competitive segment. Audi, BMW, Infiniti, and Lexus (among others) offer the best luxury car, which is usually less expensive and more powerful than the comparable Benz. All of these cars are worth a long look, but with a mix of driving, luxury, and high-tech features, the new C-Class is a great choice for a luxury entry-level sedan.
